Founder, Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine Specialist

Dr. Byron Cotton, M.D.

Dr. Byron C. Cotton has provided pediatric care to families across Alabama and Georgia for more than 30 years. A native of Headland, Alabama, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Bethune-Cookman and completed his medical degree at Meharry Medical College. Dr. Cotton trained in Pediatrics at Henry Ford Hospital and later received a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine from the University of Alabama, where he was honored with the CMFDP Postdoctoral Fellowship Award.

Board Certified in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Dr. Cotton founded Kids & Teens Primary Healthcare in 2006 and continues to teach residents from Atlanta Medical Center and medical students from Emory University. Recognized as one of “Atlanta’s Top Doctors” from 2009 to 2017, he has held clinical appointments with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Egleston Health Care System.

Dr. Cotton’s professional interests include asthma, obesity, and preventive care. Outside the office, he enjoys cycling, hiking, and rock climbing. He is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening community access to quality pediatric care.

Pediatrician

Dr. Alana Burns, M.D.

Dr. Alana Burns is an Atlanta native and has served Georgia families for more than 25 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College, completed medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine in 2018, and finalized her residency training at Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Burns cares for patients from newborns through late adolescence and has a strong interest in lactation support, healthy lifestyle habits, and teen health. When she’s not caring for patients, she enjoys arts and crafts, family time, and walks in the park.

Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Tia (Gratia) Brooks, CPNP

Gratia Brooks, a proud Atlanta native, brings both passion and expertise to her work in pediatric primary care. She holds dual degrees in Public Health Education and Biology from Kennesaw State University, followed by her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nursing from Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.

She spent four years serving as a Registered Nurse at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta–Scottish Rite before becoming a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 2022. Gratia joined our practice in 2023 and cares for children from birth through adolescence.

Her growing clinical interests include adolescent mental health, nutrition, and physical activity. Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, staying active, and keeping up with advancements in pediatric care.

Payment Options

We accept money orders, cash, or credit cards. We also offer a flexible payment plan. Please get in touch with us for more details. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement as long as you are free to choose your own pediatrician.

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 9 am - 6 pm
  • Wednesday: 8 am - 4:30 pm
  • Friday: 8 am - 5 pm
  • Saturday: 9 am - 1 pm (2nd Saturday of the month only)
  • Sunday is Closed
